2 boxes of Manicotti shells/ 1 onion
Minced garlic/ 1 lb. ground turkey
1 container ricotta cheese / 1 cup mozzarella cheese
1 big can of tomato sauce/ spaghetti seasoning
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook pasta according to box instructions.
Meanwhile, cook meat, onion & garlic in a large skillet.
Also heat tomato sauce & add seasonings while cooking the meat.
let the tomato sauce simmer until meat is done.
Add meat to tomato sauce. Drain shells and fill with
Ricotta cheese. Spoon some meat sauce into bottom of 13×9
Baking dish. Top with filled shells. Top shells with meat sauce.
Top with cheese. Cover. Bake 45 min or until heated through.
Uncover after 35 min & let it finish the last 10 min. uncovered.
This recipe is good with a side salad & some garlic bread. Yum!
Note: I can feed my family of 4 (all boys except me) on 1 box from Walmart. However, I usually pick up 2 at a time. Because I have gotten boxes before where some of the shells are broken. Not always a big deal with little shells, but when you need the big ones whole to stuff them, it makes a difference.
This is my husband FAVORITE meal! But when he orders it at our local Italian restaurant it’s usually swimming in grease. Not with this recipe!
