Home school Mother’s Journal

In our homeschool this week…

The boys are working hard on WW2, learning about Hitler, and watching The Diary of Anne Frank. (Both are reading a book on Anner Frank as well) Eric learned about light and color this week in science. John read Julius Ceasar.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

No field trips or anything this week, just a troop meeting. But we will visit my dad tomorrow.

My favorite thing this week was…

Eric got 100% on his spelling test, I was so proud of him.

What’s working/not working for us…

Eric still complains about his lessons daily, but its just that he wants to spend the day watching movies. Yesturday he came and asked for help on his Grammar book. I looked at it and noticed he didn’t do anything. He said he didn’t understand it, so we read the first together and it was so easy. I was not happy with him. He just wanted to do the work with me so he could get it done quicker ad didn’t have to put any effort in it. I sent him to his room to do his work, he came back about 10 minutes later with it all done.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…

Thinking about John working on speech and debate. He needs to learn how to speak in public. Worried about Eric not putting effort into his work and always trying to get other people to do his work for him.
